A. State Merit Scholarship

Applicant
should be a first year student of Under Graduate or Post Graduate course in
Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments in the state and should have
scored more than 50% marks in the qualifying Examination. In the case of Post
Graduate students, they should have scored at least 50% marks in Main and
Subsidiary together.
Annual
income of parents should not exceed Rs.1,00,000/-. However, the top 6 students
of the Arts courses, top 6 of the Science courses and top 3 of the commerce
courses based on merit, of the Post inter stage (BA/B.Sc/B.Com) and the top 1
student each of the three categories of the Post Graduate Courses based on
merit will be awarded scholarship irrespective of the family income.
Scholarship
amount will be credited to the Bank Account of the candidates selected. So
Applicant should have a Bank Account in his/her name in any one of State Bank

B.District Merit Scholarship
Students who passed with A+
grade in all subjects in the SSLC examination is eligible for the
District Merit Scholarship.

The eligible candidates will be awarded Rs.1250/- and a merit certificate.

C. Central Sector Scholarship Kerala for UG Studies
Students who pass Plus Two /VHSC Examinations, conducted by
the Board of Higher secondary Education/Board of Vocational Higher Secondary
Education, Government of Kerala and pursuing any regular course which may also
be Professional Courses such as Medical, Engineering etc; at Under- Graduate
degree level in any recognized educational institution, satisfying the
conditions stipulated, are eligible to apply for the Central Sector Scholarship
for Under Graduate Studies.
Those pursuing
parallel / private registration/ correspondence / distance education courses
are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicant should have scored a
minimum of 80% marks in Plus Two +2/VHSC Examination. The parental income (both
father and mother) should not exceed Rs. 6 lakhs per annum. Applicant should
not be availing any other Scholarships/financial assistance, should not be
belonging to the Creamy-layer.
The Scholarship,
introduced by Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of Higher
Education, Government of India, aims at providing financial assistance to
meritorious students from low income families. The total number of Scholarships
is divided to the States, based on the statistics of the population in the age
of 18-25 years. Scholarships would be distributed amongst the pass outs of the
Science, Commerce and Humanities streams in the ratio of 3:2:1. Of the
available scholarships, 50% would be earmarked for girls. Scholarships are
reserved for the various categories as follows: SC-15%, ST-7 ½%, OBC-27%. For
Physically handicapped students, 3%, scholarships are reserved horizontally in
all the categories.
For Under Graduate
Students, the rate of Scholarship is Rs. 1000/- per month, subject to a maximum
of Rs. 10,000/- for an academic year. It is Rs. 2000/- per month for
Post-Graduate studies, subject to a maximum of Rs. 20,000/- for an academic
year, provided they are selected for Scholarship at UG level.
For Professional
Courses, it is Rs. 1000/- per month for the first three years, subject to a
maximum of Rs. 10,000/- for an academic year and Rs. 2000/- per month for the
4th and 5th years of study, subject to a maximum of Rs.20,000/- for an academic
year.
The Central Sector
Scholarship amount will be transferred to the Adhaar linked Bank Account of the
students, directly by the MHRD under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme
introduced by Government of India. So, applicant should have a Adhaar enabled
Bank Account in his/her name in any one of State Bank of Travancore / State
Bank of India / South Indian Bank/ Federal Bank. This is mandatory to apply for
the Scholarship.
